Notes: Holy Cross Cemetery opened in 1843 and is registered historic site. Our Lady of Sorrows chapel was built in one day in August 1843. There are approximate 23,000 interments in the cemetery.
Holy Cross Cemetery is the final resting place for many notable persons, including a Prime Minister of Canada. A large grey tombstone shaped like a cross marks the grave of Sir John Sparrow David Thompson.
